30 THINGS YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT ME!

Behold: the answer key! 


I was drinking beer with a friend the other day and he interrupted me after a bit and said,
"You know, you are way cooler in person."
I'm not really sure what that meant, but I think that I kind of give the impression of being a little too watery-inspirational online. The words I use are just letters and placeholders - they don't capture what I am trying to say most of the times and even give a false impression of who I am. There are people that see a few tweets, a blog post or even a Facebook status from someone and think they've got them all figured out.
There are things that I am sure not even my close friends know about me or that I forget are important in how they shaped the story of the person behind the blog.
So Hello,
Here's 30 things you don't know about me.

1. I am a tech-nerd - from computers to TV to video game consoles. And yes, for those who were wondering I built the website by myself (I taught myself CSS and HTML.)
2. I play Call of Duty Zombies - I am currently on level 54.
3. I travelled to USA, Africa, Asia and Europe - I saw the world, witnessed different cultures, gained experiences and met new people. Oh and I went on a Safari.
4. I constantly watch documentaries on National Geographic, Discovery Channel & History Channel.
5. I've broken both of my arms. I am very clumsy - I am always bumping into things and tripping. I am a walking disaster.
6. My ideal man? A guy who is a lot taller than me, has a gorgeous facial bone structure, full lips and does NOT have a six pack! I like someone who is honest, straightforward, amazingly funny, spontaneous and protective. I do not like metrosexuals (refers to males who are concerned with their looks more than the average female). Contact me if you find one.
7. I don't play hard to get, I play hard to forget. 
8. I have a lot of guy friends - I find it refreshing. I love giving my advice, I am a good listener and from what I've been told I can be a pretty damn good wing woman.
9. I am very shy at first but I do the stupidest random sh*t when I get comfortable with someone...and I always have something to say - I am a chatterbox.
10. I love the smell of vanilla, roses and men's cologne. 
11. My favorite colours are red, white, navy blue and emerald green. 
12. I started drinking coffee when I was 18 years old. - Yes you read that right. I didn't drink coffee until one day I decided to wake up at 4am and revise for a Maths exam. I was so hyper and energetic that I scored 97%.
13. I get drunk on a glass of wine... Go ahead, make my day.
14. I am unconditionally and irrevocably in love... with Diet Coke (with ice but no lemon please)
15. I wake up and fall asleep to Music. My favorite music genres are Classic, Indie and Alternative Rock, Jazz, Blues, Lounge and Classical music. On iTunes I heard the song Icky Thump by the White Stripes 3567 times.
16. When a song gets stuck on my mind (currently Paris Ohlala by Grace Potter & the Nocturnals)... I strongly advice you stay away from me for a couple of days.
17. I also sing and dance at home by myself...when no one is watching. I sometimes think that the neighbours out my windows can see me - they probably can - but I don't really care. After all, it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring!
18. I have a secret crush on Justin Bieber (so don't be shocked if you see me singing "Baby" in overalls).
19. I have this problem of constantly saying "sorry" and "thank you". I even apologise when I cry.
20. On that note...I am very sensitive - I even cry when I watch the X Factor, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, when I read birthday cards and when I watch chick flicks.
21. I refuse to yell at my significant other or be yelled at. 
22. The only thing I can't memorise is car plate numbers. Sorry. (cr*p! refer to point 19.)
23. I have had a lot of random celebrity encounters - I saw Patrick Dempsey and Katherine Heigl from Grey's Anatomy, Brad Pitt, Ashton Kutcher, Bruce WIllis (twice), Demi Moore, Akon, and JayZ. I also went at a Kings of Leon concert at the Hard Rock Hotel, LV.
24. I have a girl crush on Rihanna, Megan Fox and Candice Swanepoel. 
25. I love TV-Series. From How I met your mother, to Suits, to Gossip Girl. Oh and I watched the whole Desperate Housewives series (from season 1-8) eight times.
26. I like being alone and independent. I need a lot of space to myself so I like to stay alone until I'm full and then I rejoin the world. For introverts (I'm somewhere between an introvert and an extrovert), we take lots of space to think, breathe and just be; so I think blogging is a huge game-shifter for introverted people; I have become more sociable and more confident.
27. I love cheering people up and I think of others instead of myself. When a family member/friend/boyfriend or even someone I just met is going through a hard time I listen to the story, help make decisions and support 100%. I also bring food and wine.
28. Believe it or not I am real. I don't hold back on my feelings, I am straightforward and honest. If I don't like someone I am just going to say hi - out of politeness - and that's it. And If I like a guy I am going to let him know. I hate teasing. But sometimes I shoot my mouth off before I think really hard about it (this is one of my flaws and I am working on it.)
29. When the going gets tough, I've learned to dig deep. Life isn't easy, but it certainly is fun. Everything you are going through - every single thing, even if you are in the middle of it - teaches resilience, tests your character and strengthens your resolve. Everyone has a story - so don't judge by what you see - and you might be living yours now at this very moment. All I can say is, it will turn out for the better. TRUST ME.
30. My favourite motto is: Hakuna Matata!

I find it fun and a little scary to reveal so much about myself. I have a feeling though, that this list will be an eternal work-in-progress.
