AGAINST ALL ODDS

A message to my female readers.

As all the eyes in the room focused on me and the pool of cameras covered me with a barrage of flashes I could only think one thing: I've got this. 

That thought coming during an unforeseen Cinderella moment, marked the conquering of what seemed to be an unlikely summit of self-confidence.

I spent the greater proportion of my high-school career in the depths of depression from repeated bullying by my female peers. I am not a person who gets jealous and in fact I admire the qualities other people may have. Unfortunately, though, I experienced endless teasing. My self-confidence was completely and utterly demolished and I remember I kept asking myself; Why me? 

Little did I know that studying in the United Kingdom, would be a doorway to my greatest achievements.

In October 2011, I was walking in the streets of Guildford where I was recruited by a modelling agency. My inner goddess began screaming this is a scam, walk away - and so I did. I told the pair that I am not interested but they advised me to create an account on a website that connects new faces with modelling agencies and photographers. On a random afternoon I set up the account and uploaded some amateur photos - that was probably the last time I signed in.

In July 2012, after I created my own fashion blog, I received a very hurtful comment - the anonymous reader was addressing my eyebrows - and I was on the verge of deleting everything.

A month after that, another unlikely breakthrough came. 

I received my first ever email from that website I created back in October 2011. I was told that the fashion and beauty photographer of Vogue Italia was interested in preparing my modelling portfolio. 

It was my first professional modelling I had ever done and I did not think anything like that could ever happen to me. 

When I arrived at the studios, the first thing she told me was that one of the reasons she was interested in taking my pictures was because of my eyebrows. 

That moment was a turning point in my life - the battle I had been fighting my entire life was over and guess what; I won. 

Any dream can be manifested in reality when you believe in it.
I hope I can inspire you and give you an entry to fulfilling your dreams the same way I received my unexpected break - because that's what it was, a break I desperately needed.

 I can now say with certainty, that miracles can happen. When you believe in yourself you can achieve anything you desire.
